Chiara is obviously her given name. I don't see why she put "Chi Chi" on the WTA site all these years...pretty ridiculous.

Don´t know. Can you take a grown up woman seriously, who calls herself Chi Chi? or (Chichi) 
If I hear the name Chichi I think about a little dog (that kind of dogs, some women carry in their bags) or a travesty-star.
So I think, it was a good idea, that she calls herself Chiara from now on.

I think Chiara is a pretty name. I can't say I care too much for "Chi Chi" - too cutesy sounding for me (and I can't STAND most cutesy names) (it's Christmas, where is my goodwill, I know...  ).

I always thought she pronounced it like Chi Chi Rodriguez, the ancient golfer. But with this new information, I wonder, did she pronounce it like this: Ki Ki? Chiara is in no way pronounced "sh" or like the "ch" in cheese. I am very curious now. I do like the name Chiara, better than Chi Chi. The name reminds me of the great Marcello Mastroianni's and Catherine Deneuve's daughter Chiara.
