Smart move from the organizers. This way they allow an extra Thai to play the tournament.
Now it will be Kumkhum & Wongteanchai MDWC + Tanasugarn Q + 2QWC (most probably Luangnam & Lertcheewakarn). Reduced draw means less WC so no Wannasuk this year 
Had Tanasugarn received a MDWC only 4 Thai players would have played the tournament, instead of 5.
