Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Razzano vs. Serena, that was unarguably the biggest upset this year.
I have to say, I wasn't hugely shocked by any other match. Robson d. Clijsters, mwah, maybe. I wasn't THAT surprised.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
The one match that came up first to my mind was that Serena vs Razzano match. There were probably several other matches too, but that one was such a shock!

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Both of Serena's slam losses, especially considering what came after.

IMO the RG loss is the reason she had the second half she did. She's one of like three active WTA players who can learn from a loss and move on.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Razzano reducing Serena to tears at FO 1st rd.
Hands down most shocking sight in 2012 tennis season for me.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
Razzano beating Serena at the FO by far. Not only because Serena lost, but even more because of the way it happened.
And as a Woz fan I was shocked by her loss against Begu in the first round of the USO.

Re: Most shocking losses this year?
By far Serena vs Virginie at RG just because of how dominant Serena had been post miami, only for it then to fall apart at the French, and i think this win is the one thing thats keeping next season from not being completely NID.
Serena has her aura back after what happened post RG last year, and she could go on a tear even at Paris next year, but it's the one place that people will feel like they can rattle Serena, and there's a little bit of doubt in everyones mind most crucially Rena's.
As a Venus fan and even given her syndrome the loss to Vesnina in R1 at Wimbledon was a big shock. She looked and played like crap, but all along i was kinda expecting something to happen and change considering it was Wimbledon and the one tournament she'd fight like crazy to not flake out at but nothing happened. By far the flattest and shellshocked i've ever seen her look on the court!
