I'm OK with Dementieva №5 (she was competitive with Serena)
but what are the reasons to include Vaidisova, Chakvetadze, Pavluchenkova, Kleybanova, Stephens and OMG Madison Keys?
talent? potential? do they really have more of it than some unknown Clijsters and Davenport to name but a few

True fully I couldn't think of no other names after like number 15. I wasn't Huge fan of Clijsters or Davenport, Don't get me wrong I enjoy watching them play but wasn't their biggest Fan. Vaidisova too me had the Talent & Potential too win Slams, while Stephen & Madison Keys I see Potential in them, Pavluchenkova & Kleybanova both have Talent too test some top player IMO.

I don't get it. Are we including their results prior to 2000 as long as they had a big result post-2000?
It makes a big diffrence for Hingis.
Is it only her post-2000 results that count?

So why do most posters (including the thread creator) have her above Capriati/Clijsters/Davenport?
They must be counting pre-2000 results since Hingis won zero slams after that.

It you are really counting results after 2000, than Hingis is behind davenport and Capriati. She won zero slams and routinely got beaten by Capriati in AO finals. Plus she was not a factor beyond 2002 except for a brief return in 2006-07.

simple question Was Hingis in 2000s treated as no-Slam-winner? No, she was treated as 5 Slams winner and one of the most talented players bith by the crowd and by other players
So pls don't split players careers in 2 parts. And not only career achievements in this thread are defining the place in top 20 , talent should be also taken into account... Hingis didn't become less talented after 2000

It makes no sense to break things up by decade. OR for that matter, why is the 'top ten' more important than the top eight or the top sixteen?
I treat it as sort of, best players born after 1975.
