Kvittytard, NID You do know that Lindsay was still going deep at slams even after her 3 majors till 2005?

Yeah, Peak Kvitty is so unstoppable she dropped sets to Pironkova, Azarenka on grass en route to her glorious Wimbledon title. Or do we have to wait for another year for the mythical 'unbeatable' Peak Kvitova to rise from the ashes?

I believe a lot of these youguns posting here never saw Davenport during her prime. She was a joy to watch (the sound the ball made out of her racquet was orgasmic) and she seldom made UEs. Her glaring weakness was her movement, probably the worst ever out of any player that reached #1 in the world. But her serve was as consistent and brutal as her groundies. Kvitova is a bit faster but I'd still go with Davenport in straight sets. Kvitova has a long way to go still.

Well, Ludmilla has the power and variety to repeatedly hit the sidelines in a random unpredictable fashion (mostly because she plays completely by instinct and without any sort of tactics at all), and it would have been much harder for Fatvenport to simply stand in one place midcourt and clobber balls that kept coming back to her.
BOTH of them suffer from the same complete lack of desire to be a champion, deeply introverted and slouching about court full of talent, but uncomfortable with the pressure it brought.
Fatvenport on the other hand had a little bit more willingness to play ugly and grind it out...

so...two tough sets 7-5 5-7 and then Ludmilla decides she is suffering from Hypothermia or something and loses the third 0-6.
