Kanepi is doubtful because of a heel injury. If she won't play, the next in line is #32 Daniela Hantuchova (Pattaya City).

The format is the same as in Istanbul: two groups (Serdika and Sredetz) with four players each, the two highest ranked (Caro and Petrova) in different groups. All players play three matches against the other players in her group. The best two in each group advance to the SF, number one from Serdika facing number two from Sredets and vice versa.
If a player wins all her five matches, she'll earn 375 ranking points.
The tournament is played over six days from October 30 to November 4.

So, Kaia was indeed too injured to play and Dani took her place.
I hope Caro will be grouped with Vinci, Zheng and Pironkova. RV and ZJ because Caro has a negative H2H against both of them which need straightening out. And TP, not because she's the lowest ranked, but because Caro hasnt played her for 2½ years. To me it'd simply be more interesting than yet another match against Dani, whom Caro has already played twice this season.
Anyone heard what day the drawing will be done?

I'd rather not have Vinci in her group.. She's had a good season and will prove to be difficult for Caro.
Yeah yeah yeah, Caro needs to be able to beat these people, but she also needs to regain her confidence. Sure the win in Moscow helped, but I still think she needs more wins under her belt.

Well, I got 1 out 3 wishes: Vinci. A chance for Caro to even that 0-1 H2H from Toronto 11, the start of her downwards slide.
I don't mind Hsieh too much. Caro has only played her once and we couldn't watch that match, so it'll be interesting to see how they match up. I hope Caro wins Sredets and Zheng finishes 2nd in Serdika so they can play in SF.
Dani, sigh. I have nothing against her as a player, but they already played at Olympics and Tokyo, nothing new and interesting about this match-up.
