The forehand CC winner at 3-4 to hold was close, but in. You're right though, the mishit return at 0-30 at 4-4 was clearly wide. The deep backhand that the crowd jeered over couldn't tell based on camera angle.
Doesn't seem like there was that much that made a difference. It was one bad call that she shouldn't have let get to her. One of Vee's aces was called out in the 0-1 game in the 3rd set too and it didn't get to her.
The Luxembourg tournament organizers are getting their money's worth for the Williams appearance fee. It took a lot of ridiculous line calling, but they managed to get it done.
Rule of thumb: When the crowd is laughing at line calls during the points, you know it's getting absolutely ridiculous.
There was only one questionable call, the ball Venus hit was probably out but called good and gave her 0-40, other times Andrea complained without real bases.
Also Venus served one ace and it was called out but luckily she won that point anyway with second serve.
The line calls were fine. Even the commentator said the balls were clearly in.
All of them that they showed replays of were in. Although before the replay, they did look out.

nothing against Venus cause she fought as hard as she could once again but it feels like the wrong player won.Overall, the linecalling this week has been trully
I don't think the line calling was a big enough factor to have determined the winner. Venus earned her victory. She fought back impressively whenever she was down, and when she didn't serve well petkovic obviously took advantage. She had many opportunities, but was just outplayed.
