When to serve or receive
As everyone is so pressed about the Serena-Jankovic when to serve incident. Here is the official rule form the rulebook it is on page 448.
21. WHEN TO SERVE & RECEIVE
The server shall not serve until the receiver is ready. However, the receiver shall play to the reasonable pace of the server and shall be ready to receive within a reasonable time of the server being ready.
A receiver who attempts to return the service shall be considered as being ready. If it is demonstrated that the receiver is not ready, the service cannot be called a fault.
22. THE LET DURING A SERVICE
The service is a let if:
a. The ball served touches the net, strap or band, and is otherwise good; or, after touching the net, strap or band, touches the receiver or the receiver’s partner or anything they wear or carry before hitting the ground; or
b. The ball is served when the receiver is not ready. In the case of a service let, that particular service shall not count, and the server shall serve again, but a service let does not cancel a previous fault.

Which is exactly why Serena said "Until I'm ready" when asked "How long do I have to wait?". Serena knows the rules well, and Jelena apparently needs a little refresher course.

21. WHEN TO SERVE & RECEIVE
The server shall not serve until the receiver is ready.
As long as the receiver doesnt lie about raising her hand, like Henin did.

Demonstrated by who? The umpire? Since the umpire was unable to demonstrate this in the RG semi, does that mean Serena's serve was rightfully called a fault?

Since you feel the need to change the subject: About 3 different TV camera angles and multiple still shots demonstrated it clearly for all history.
Justine was asked to help to "demonstrate" if the serve was a fault and she didn't live up to the code of honor specifically spelled out in the rules of her chosen profession. That's why she was rightfully accused of cheating.

Exactly, Justine raised her hand as Serena's service motion was beginning - then didn't clarify the situation when the umpire asked, which is a completely different situation to Jankovic who was deliberating trying to unsettle Serena with her serving patterns.
Serena gathers Jankovic for breaking the rules and some how she is the one accused of gamesmanship.
Members on this forum just aren't discerning people. I don't hold anything against Justine any more, nor Jankovic really - but some posters are extremely off point with their attempts to character assassinate Serena.

So there is no rule about the receiver going at the server's pace?
