Osaka R1: Stosur gets by Erika Sema 6-4 6-2
Sam is soo bad
Erika is the righty one as well so if she just kicked everything, there was no way that there would have been any trouble holding and the Sema's serves are pretty average
Anyway, a win's a win and she should vulture here

Yeah, not sure what was giving Sam so much trouble in this match, she surely should have won it a lot easier. But a win is a win. Take the title for fuck's sake Sam, it's got a freakin' bow on it.

Wow... Stosur had more issues against Sema than Shuai Zhang did... (Shuai beat her 6-1 6-1)
Major slump alert

^Not Sam's best match I'd say, but "major slump" seems a bit harsh, and a bit premature. This doesn't even come close to being the worst result this year by a top player against a lower-ranked player in R1 of a tournament.

A match won in straights can't be a bad match I hope we'll see Stosur vs Shvedova in R3

Kontaveit would have probably been double breadsticked by Sema so shut up

Hopefully she was just coasting along and taking it easy. Might be a little bit upset that she didn't make YEC too and lacking motivation. Hope that's not the case because she needs more titles desperately.

I think you might be right. She commented on this in the post match interview. She didn't exactly sound upset about not qualifying for the YEC, but it did kind of seem to me as if she wasn't quite as motivated as she would have been if she still had a chance of qualifying:

But as you said, she really needs titles, so hopefully she'll kick herself in the butt after this match and start to play a bit better.
