Or maybe it's because all the girls on tour don't like Maria, meaning she must not be friendly to them when off court and the cameras are off.
The "hatred" of Maria is not limited to Vika.

This. Sharapova is pretty much the only player nobody has anything nice to say about. At best they respect her...but nobody seems to like her.

its probably because masha treats tennis as a job, get in, do the task, go home. its a shame because it's funny at the player parties when you see all the girls getting together, but she shouldn't be ostracised because she doesn't want to do that.

Maybe we need to become as bitter as you before we can see it so clearly 
I highly doubt Vika is "jealous" of Maria's fame or "popularity". It's not as if the crowds are ever clearly pro-Maria when they meet, even today when she was getting wiped out. Some people grow beyond having the mentality of a 12 year old; Vika has enough money that she and no-one in her family ever need to work again. Her tennis and results are in a different world from last year. She must be feeling quite comfortable with her life right now. I doubt jealousy is in her vocabulary.

It's not meant to be one big social cesspool behind the scenes. You of all people should respect and understand that, since I would always maintain that Caroline was/is way too social and friendly to her competitors behind the scenes and that certainly contributed to her current lack of intimidation.

Are these reasons ones that you've created to make you feel better about Vika's ownage of Maria??? Vika will become a multi-multi-millionairess in her own right, big deal that Maria has more $$$. Don't ge me wrong: I don't blame Sharapova for her "I'don't care about you all, I just want to do my job" attitude. If that works for her then that's fine.
I just don't like the dishonesty of some of her fans about it. It's clearly obvious that she makes no effort to be friendly with the other players so it's no surprise that they don't like her much. That dosen't make them bitches, it's just a two way street.. she choses to do it this way so it's a bit dishonest to complain about the feedback.
