Now the real fun begins. Obviously, the Agi match was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. But Maria won her group at 3-0 like I thought she would. I don't believe for a second that Vika will lose to Li Na, so it's another showdown with her for Maria. One more chance on a hardcourt.
I know Maria is one of the best at moving on from losses and focusing on the present. But I have to imagine that Maria going 1-5 against Vika, someone she clearly dislikes, in the same year, would eat at her and haunt her throughout the offseason. So this is a huge match for Maria's confidence and psyche.

Will the first match start an hour later tomorrow? I think if Vika goes through that they'll be on second though.

Yay nice convincing win to set Maria up well for this semi. gonna get a lot tougher for her advance from here on out, but she's given herself the best possible chance.

A good day at the office for the Golden Girl. The start of the second set looked like error go-go again but Maria did not lose control.
She did what she was supposed to do thus far in the tournament, a solid RR and still some chances to snatch the title and the no. 1 spot (if Na Li makes a small masterpiece).
Look forward to the semi tomorrow and hope she'll play one of her best matches.
