Both were at their peak but that means Vika wins (cuz when both are peaking what happens is that Masha will simply not be given time to hit her favorite hard shots off the ground)
Basically. Vika and Serena are the only players that have the offense and defense to take Maria off her best game. We saw what happened to Kerber and Na Li, who couldn´t keep Maria deep in the court for long. It is also fits in with Sharapova´s success on clay, which gives her more time defensively and to set up her heavy shots.

Disappointing match from Maria considering the tournament she's had. But I have to say, Azarenka didn't look underpowered at all in this match like she usually does against big hitters. Azarenka's most scorching winners in the match didn't seem very far off from Sharapova's.
