WTA is on a high right now, they are still very reliant on Serena, and i hope she keeps doing what she is doing until the likes of Azarenka, Sharapova, Radwanska, and Kvitova are ready to step up and take it, which i don't think any of them are right now but hopefully they will be soon.

Not defined, but it certainly substantiates it.
When the top players are playing well (and going deep in majors), it usually is a good sign for the tour.

I think 2012 has been the most memorable year in recent memory. What most will remember this year is Serena's incredible summer run at the age of 30. The highlight being the dominant Olympic gold medal performance watched by billions.
Next would be Maria Sharapova completing her career slam after a 3 year drought, and an amazing clay season.
Then Victoria Azarenka capturing her first grand slam title in style and gaining the number one rank.
Other memorable highlights:
Serena-Vika US Open final
Maria Stuttgart title
Serena Charleston title
Vicoria Sydney title
Aga Miami title
Laura Robson Us Open run
Lowlights (or highlights if you hate them)

2012 has definitely been a high-quality year for WTA. We've had so many great matches and top players have performed really consistently as well.

It's been a really good season.
- Vika proved she's the real deal at the beginning of the year.
- Martha completed the career slam.
- Serena learned a lesson the hard way but turned the worst moment of her career into the best loss she's ever had and won 2 slams and 2 Olympic Gold medals. Plus she's caring about the regular events more, winning 3 regular tour titles.
- Queen Bethanie won a Grand Slam title.
- Aga proved Tokyo/Bombjing wasn't a fluke winning Miami and not getting killed in the Wimbledon finals.
- Na's new relationship with Carlos.
- Kerber got bitch slapped into retirement by Martha.
- The rise of more young American girls getting into R3/R4's of slams.
- Piotr/Caro Wozniacki's reign seems like a distant memory.

If you watch the match, she was by farrrrr the best player in the court hitting ridiculous shots.
Anyway, its been a bit shit for most of my favourites, but at least kerber and robson had massive breakthroughs.
