That being said it's true that Serena was AWESOME but Serena was mostly impressive in serve and ROS. Those are areas Serena is far better than everyone at her best.

....don't hold a candle to either Maria's performances today or in the Stuttgart final, seeing as Serena hit barely 10 winners off the ground in either her SF or F at the Olympics (Vika and Maria had much higher UE counts in those Olympics matches than Kerber did today, mind you.)

Serena's best performance of the year remains her match against Stosur in Charleston, by a long way.

Exactly. The way Maria was playing today was levela above what Serena can play (atleast from the ground). She served better than Maria, but thats where it ends.

Whats with all the trashy Serena fans bringing in that gang dance gif/Olympic photos? If Maria had played like she did today, Serena would've retired after the first few games.
