Players who are younger than everyone ranked ahead of them
... because "Players who do not have anyone older than them ranked ahead of them" was too long and clunky.
1 Caroline Wozniacki (11 Jul 1990)
21 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (3 Jul 1991)
61 Melanie Oudin (23 Sep 1991)
81 Bojana Jovanovski (31 Dec 1991)
109 Christina McHale (11 May 1992)
164 Ajla Tomljanovic (7 May 1993)
172 Zarina Diyas (18 Oct 1993)
217 Laura Robson (21 Jan 1994)
379 Kateryna Kozlova (20 Feb 1994)
397 Krista Hardebeck (14 Sep 1994)
489 Madison Keys (17 Feb 1995)
761 Jan Abaza (1 Mar 1995)

1) I lost interest starting from Abaza because you get a slew of 95s closely packed together. She's included as a reference for Keys.
2) A couple of years back, de Brito would have been the standout on this list. Now she no longer features.
3) Robson and Keys are the standouts. (And Wozniacki.)
4) Some names are less well known than others. I don't know anything about Tomljanovic, for instance.
5) Diyas keeps popping up of late. Some weird practice tiebreak with Henin, the JJ Moscow fiasco. Is she the real deal?

That shows how few young players are making noise now.
A few years ago Lansdorp said that #1's show it by 16.
That might be an old paradigm

A lot of young players born in 1993-1995 still plays in junior tournaments, so their rankings are not as good as Robson's or Tomljanovic's ranking.

It's unfortunate, because most of those players in the top 200 (Jovanovski, Oudin, McHale) have very little talent in their games and aren't exactly exciting prospects for the future.

Michelle has only went down since she first entered the top 100...I can't believe she's actually gonna play some 25k in the USA instead of the AO qualies

Christina is the highest ranked 1992 girl by like 50 places 
Good to see that Mel is still doing pretty well for her age, despite a tough sophomore year on tour.
It's a shame what happened to De Brito... I know a lot of people didn't like her, but she really was impressive for her age, and I thought she'd be top 50 by now.
Mladenovic is another really impressive girl who might have been on the list, but she had a rough year with an injury.
Madison is the real deal. Waiting for her to have a real breakthrough pro result.

I agree with Bojana and Christina. Christina has severely benefitted from some kind draws to give her rank a huge boost. But Melanie undeniably has a good game.

I'm eager to see how Mladenovic performs in the Hopman Cup. Haven't really gotten to watch her in a full match yet aside from when she played Na that one time. (FO I think?) I like her a lot though.

Kind draws? In Cincinnati she completely outplayed Petrova. It wasn't until halfway through the second set that Petrova was showing signs of heat illness.
I mean she definitely got lucky with a retirement from Vika, but other than that, I can't think of many other easy draws, except for maybe Quebec City, which is traditionally weak. She had some good wins, and some bad losses, but that's to be expected from her first year on the tour. I think Christina is really underrated on this board, but maybe that's a good thing. I'm not saying that she is going to be a top 10 or even 20 player, but I definitely think that she can crack top 50!

Mladenovic is still on the schedule for Hopman Cup? I wonder if she will receive the French Wild Card if Razzano gets in directly.
