Movies that were panned by the critics but you actually liked?
Right now I can only think of one
Aeon Flux
It was criticized mainly because of its characters' robotic and emotionless speak, which is true lol, but honestly the setting is gorgeous and the plot isn't bad at all.
What about you?

Most recent one that comes to my head is Dark Shadows.
I mean it wasn't bad overall but did get a little crap in places. Still though the conversation between the main dude and that girl makes the movie when he walks in the house as a vampire in the 20th century:
Girl: Are you stoned?
Dude: They tried to stone me dear but it did not work.

I think "critics" are one of the most hilarious things.

Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity.
Should have won an Oscar for the title alone.

Re: Movies that were panned by the critics but you actually liked?
I remember the movie Identity getting raked by critics but I went on a date to see it anyways and loved it.
Same thing with the movie Wicker Park. I didnt like the movie as much but I remember it getting bland reviews and then I wound up getting totally into it.
The best example of this for me though is Cruel Intentions. I watched that movie probably 50 times in high school. It got destroyed by critics when it came out though. I dont care how camp it is, its so so good.

Suckerpunch got mixed reviews. The action sequences are good. The rest of it is messy and rather pointless. In the end, I dont care whats reality and whats not because it jumps around too much.

I thought this movie tends to get good reviews by people who have seen it and by movie magazines. Rather dull script to me.

Why dont you make your own movie. Cut up bits of video of tennis players acting your own script. Could turn out well.

I really like Nacho Libre, some big laughs, engaging story, good soundtrack, hugely likeable film.
