On court coaching is crap
In the Petrova/Stosur match Petrova's coach is clearly heard saying about Sam who was on a medical time out.... "we have to wait for this FUCKING BITCH To see if anything is wrong with her!!"
Classy coach and stupid experimental concept that has to go.

Re: On court coaching is crap
It's Ricardo Sanchez. He is nothing but crass.
He won't last much longer with her.

Re: On court coaching is crap
MTO just before your opponent serving to the set is actually ridiculous, Sanchez is too rude though

That makes no sense. She is playing her best tennis in years, so it seems they have a connection.

She doesn't keep coaches long. It's Nadia. Anyway, I think she played better before him.

Re: On court coaching is crap
I don't like coaching during matches. It gives the coaches too much credit and blame. And I also think it makes some players softer.

This is why I want MORE bitching on-court coaching, not less.

I agree. I want someone, anyone, to sit with these players and tell them to stop hitting so many unforced errors. The quality of play would improve.

Re: On court coaching is crap
Sanchez's idiocy and total lack of class is a separate issue. Most coaches actually have a brain and some basic social skills. I think he or Nadia (after all, she signs his paycheck) should be hit with a code violation for this, it's completely out of line. Anyone who is amused by behaviour like this from an experienced tennis coach would find better value in watching Jerry Springer re-runs rather than tennis.
But yes, in general, on-court coaching is a stupid concept. Apart from anything else, it discriminates against players with English speaking coaches, because the opponent gets to hear every word of what is being said, whereas few will understand advice offered in Chinese or Czech. But that doesn't really matter that much, because the bottom line is that it doesn't really help players in the long run. It just turns them into lazy automatons who can't think for themselves on court, and who are completely clueless in slams where no coaching is allowed.

Re: On court coaching is crap
Being with Jankovic for so long in the past has turned Sanchez into a complete classless moron
How did Nadia react when he insulted Samantha?

Errr. What exactly is the basis for that connection?
On court coaching is so stupid. If anything else, it gives the men's tour one more thing to complain about.

Rafael looks to Toni Nadal like a lost boy in every match.
