It won't affect her , because WTA guarantees that new regulataions won't affect active player

Grunting doesn't bother me in the slightest. My Baby nephew has started mimicking Sharapova's noise its really funny my sister and her husband can not work out where he has picked the noise up from hehehe.

Yes, Maria Sharapova. I'm sure that's what they think he's been hearing and copying. I mean, noises like she makes on court. Where else could they have been picked up?

Ever watch-I mean, listen to-her practice?

If she meant a cent of it, she'd put her money where her mouth is.

what's wrong with her practice? she doesn't put much effort on her strokes . In real matches she strikes 130-140 km per hour shots, and on practice sessions during which she is in full pace mode she is shrieking the same

Re: Maria Sharapova Supports Grunting Ban

Men are quite loud, it's true.
The Bryan Brothers are louder than many women yet don't get any criticism which is a shame.
And the media don't write about the time violation issue which is pure cheating.

The casual fan think everyone woman scream like Sharapova while it's only Azarenka who does the same.
Wozniacki's grunt it very natural and doesn't bother anyone.

Allaster needs to be strong and give point penalty to anyone that shriek like a mad woman.

Re: Maria Sharapova Supports Grunting Ban

Grunting doesn't bother me at all but in theory I'm ok with them banning it. The issue is how on earth are they actually going to implement this?

Are they going to have equipment out there measuring the sound? What happens if a player has to exert themselves on a particularly hard shot at a critical point of the match, are they really going to take away a point because someone was slightly louder than the usual limit? Does it make a difference if your grunt is low pitched like Sveta or high pitched like Vika? The whole thing seems ridiculous to me.

Lol they should let Masha do what ever she wants but ban Azarenka's grunting- it's much more annoying for some reason.

So, it will apply to players who are just about to start their career on WTA tour? Or to kids that are starting to play tennis atm?

to the kids, juniours , than probably at Challangers's level . It may probably affect todays 9-10 y.o. tennis players (if it's possible to make them learn to play without grunting at this age )
