Re: Tokyo QF: A. Radwanska def. Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3
Borz just cannot put the ball away even when she commits to playing aggressive in the rally. She needs to be able to shorten her swing on the forehand when she's inside the baseline to change direction quickly DTL.

The Japanese have a funny post-match routine (the whole stadium said "AGA!" after A-Rad's interviewer asked them

Re: Tokyo QF: A. Radwanska def. Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3
Those last 2 games are Caro's whole year. At 3-4 break point she has a short ball and cant put it away. Aga hits a short lob that just clears the net and Caro loses the point trying to take it on the fly and hit a big overhead.
Match point she tries a drop shot and misses.
She doesnt play as steady anymore. For her skillset, thats smart tennis.
She tries to take more chances, makes bad errors at key moments, so the only times she made a final in over a year are mickey mouses where she drew the soft half
She has to figure out if she wants to win or take chances

That smash by Caro at 3-4* BP to Caro (second set) was Sooooo bad.

Re: Tokyo QF: A. Radwanska def. Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3
I think Caroline's rallying forehand has gotten better but Aga has a way better finishing forehand and way better volleys. Also her serve is a bit better.

Re: Tokyo QF: A. Radwanska def. Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3
I can't believe anyone saw Wozniacki play and thought "You know what shot we need to immediately overhaul in the middle of the season? Her serve."
What Caroline could do if she even had Aga's FH

Not a high-level match but still enjoyable.
Some incredible shots from Aga

Her FHCC was much better than in any of her recent matches. The thing is she is always hitting up on her FH and when she hits her FH DTL it's more of a block/guiding the ball than hitting it with authority.

Aga missed a putaway forehand before that, she never should have gotten that BP anyways
Anyways that FH winner that Radwanska hit after that long ass rally facing BP during that same game shows the difference in mentality these two have.

Good match by Tokyo standards. Aga a little more consistent + always has a few tricks up her sleeve. Woz tried to be more aggressive as the match went on, often resulting in hilarious misses (that smash and the scream ) for all the obvious reasons.
