I for one would not be surprised at any Petra K. loss.

She needs ideal conditions to win, she is not one who tries to overcome adversity.
That is not in her DNA. I was actually surprised that she had good results in North America.

Re: Tokyo R2: Martic d. Kvitova 6-4 6-4

I called this, I said Petra would win.

Ok, I thought it'd be the other one.

Kvitty served 72% but only won 48%! That's very surprising for someone with a 1st serve as huge as hers. Either Martic was returning great or Kvitty's serve/follow-up was way off.

Both players served horrendously (lot of breaks, especially with two players with good serves-in Martic's case a 1st serve), and were putrid on BP's. There were so many chances for Petra K, that she didn't take advantage of.

What the hell was Petra K doing all that time in Czech Republic? She just couldn't seem to get anything going. There appeared to be no rhythm in this match. Every time she had a chance to make her move (even on Martic 2nd serves), she stuttered and couldn't carry any momentum. And when Martic needed to finally hold on at the end, she did. Good for her!

I know Martic is a talented, potentially dangerous player-who I like. However, this was a ridiculous loss for Petra K. Just no preparation, game, brain or guts?

However, congrats to Martic. And the Seattle Seahawks, just won a game on a last second Hail Mary TD-grabbed apparently by the opposing Green Bay Player. However, the play, TD and win was awarded to Seattle. Go figure.

Maybe the craziest play and ending you've ever seen on an American Football field.
Thats what happens when CB tries to do a stunt instead of knocking the ball away

Not surprised Kvitova lost, maybe she will win a few matches next week

Re: Tokyo R2: Martic d. Kvitova 6-4 6-4

Petra-fying result.
I love Petra M but wth Petra K?
Maybe Bartoli shook up Kvitova's serving confidence because those are worrying stats, like Martic watched that match and knew exactly how to return.

Re: Tokyo R2: Martic d. Kvitova 6-4 6-4

So many people laughing out loud. At what? It's not like Petra Martic is a top 200 girl or something
On the contrary, she's very talented and she has one of the most beautiful games on the tour

That's unexpected, true, but not laughable.

Re: Tokyo R2: Martic d. Kvitova 6-4 6-4

The right Petra won, for me at least Martic is extremely talented and has beautiful artistic game. Mainly lacks power. If she can physically strengthen herself considerably she will be quite a force.
