The A-List has been winning everything and raking up every single ranking point while the B-List has been injured for half the season.
That leaves tons of opportunities for any hard-working journeyman.

The WTA will probably be like the ATP with a very strong top 4-5 and with Li, Kerber, etc. playing the roles of Tsonga, Berdych and Ferrer.

I think one of the WTA storylines for 2012 is lack of depth.

It seems like the top group has moved away from the field and every big final, AO, W, Olympics, USO, IW, Miami, Madrid, is the same 4 players.
Except Errani in the FO final.

Its almost what the ATP has, where you know who's going to play in every big final.

That makes some 3rd rounds at majors plus a few QFs into around #20

On another note, I totally didn't realize Varvara is only 26. I thought she was nearing 30. If she can continue this improvement, we could see five or so years of very solid results from Varvara . Granted she can back this up…
