Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

Start winning these matches sometimes? She's beaten Sharapova, Serena, Kvitova twice, Errani, Li, Bartoli, and Wozniacki 3 times just this year.

Let's define elite. She's not in the same class as Serena, Vika, or Sharapova. She won't be unless she wins a slam either. But she's clearly in that next tier of players. I consider Kerber, Radwanska, Kvitova, Li, and Stosur elite players. If you want to remove Kerber and Radwanska because they don't have slams then that's fair.

Will she repeat top 5 in 2013? I don't know but I think she'll stay in the top 10 and consistently be a factor in the big tournaments. She's got plenty of mental toughness to handle defending points, IMO.

Angelique

Heartbreaking loss. But Angelique played a great match, she can only be proud of herself. Coming back in first set from 2-6 in tiebreak to win it 13-11 was amazing. Azarenka played unbelievable on Angelique`s 2 match points in 2nd set at 7-6 5-4. There was nothing Angelique could do. Azarenka showed why she is #1. Mentally very strong. Seems like Azarenka always has energy, never gets tired.

Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

Angie was AMAZING against Azarenka. Love it when she plays like this.

Only a matter of a couple of points.
