Don't know if she's really injured, but I think it's better not to play in Luxembourg.

Re: Angie in Asia (Tokyo/Beijing)

Sharapova's comments:
Quote:
"I thought we played a high level of tennis in the first set and a half, and even though the scoreline was 6-0, 3-0 there were many games that went to deuce," Sharapova said.

"She had a few break points and long games on her serve," the Russian added, saying Kerber was probably lacking fitness at the end of a long season.

"I actually didn't see much of her injury. I was surprised she called the trainer and even more so when she retired quickly after that," Sharapova said.

"The schedule takes its toll on everyone. It's a normal process. If you feel like it's too bad, you've got to take care of it."

Re: Angie in Asia (Tokyo/Beijing)

Re: Angie in Asia (Tokyo/Beijing)

Sehr gute Beobachtung. Stimmt wirklich

Stuttgart Kvitova
French Open Errani
Eastbourne Paszek
Olympia Azarenka
US Open Errani
Tokio A.Radwanska
Peking Sharapova

Very tough. Group B with Sharapova, A.Radwanska, Kvitova and Errani is definitely the weaker group. I guess Azarenka and Serena will reach the SF. Just hope Angelique can beat Li.

Looking forward to the match today. Kerber played great against Serena in Cincinnati. I think she'll keep it competitive today but I expect Serena to win.

Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

Played well, I feel like the scoreline looks a little harsh on her. As always, her liability is her serve, she tried to go for more on the 2nd serve during crucial moments and double-faulted both times. If she wants to stay in the Top 5, she'll have to improve it during the winter break.

All in all, there's no shame in losing to Serena, and I hope she can beat either Na Li or Azarenka so she doesn't end the season with 4 losses in a row.

Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

Re: Angie's last tournaments in 2012 (Tokyo/Beijing/Istanbul)

I think it's clear Kerber is exhausted both physically and mentally. She's had a hell of season and I hope she remembers that more than the way it's ending. I hope she gets a lot of mental rest in the offseason and works on her serve. She's good enough to stay in the top tier of players.
