It's a bit early, she may withdraw, you know Venus. But I hope she plays and reaches the finals, like she always did

Re: Venus In Stanford: A Study in Slaying your Faves

Marion was on fire in 2009, but it was so close that I hoped Venus could just snatch it. Damn, Marion, playing well when you least want her to.

That's what I'm thinking as well unless she picks up something between now and the tournament which I think is unlikely. Her WTT matches don't start until after Stanford right?

Re: Venus In Stanford: A Study in Slaying your Faves

I'm expecting a final to be honest. Do your best here, Queenus!

By the way, I think we are going to see some new things from EleVen since we are going into another hard court season.

I think the WTT might be a good thing because if she waited til Stanford to play that means Venus will have to wait more than 1 month to play any tennis. That has been Venus' problem. She's had to walk into these tournament without being match tough. And practicing on court is not the same as playing on court. A lot of top players is going to be at the BOWC and Venus needs to play and have her body adjust to the hard courts w/o having to show up with no match play.

Venus can play WTT and get that hard court play under her belt then have a week or two off, then head to Stanford and be ready to play.
