I'm a lurker on a british forum and their x factor forum is baffled by America's fascination with country music, male country singers, and WGWG's 
X Factor US is unrecognizable to them

A lot of people think he didn't tweak the show to the American audience and that's why the ratings haven't been great all season. Baseball didn't help the cause either.

The problem with US XF is that because of all the British last season and the lower than hope for ratings, Simon just Americanized it this year and made it into a poor imitation of AI. All the backstage BS at auditions was 
It should have been a carbon copy of the UK version only with judges and host to appeal to the US audience because IMO UK XF >> AI
