What is your favorite Disney movie from its golden era (late 1980s - late 1990s)?
These are all my childhood movies. I spent my childhood growing up watching these amazing Disney movies. So lucky to be born in this era It went downhill starting in 2000
The Disney Renaissance refers to an era beginning roughly in the late 1980s and ending around 2000, during which Walt Disney Animation Studios returned to making successful animated films mostly based on well-known stories, restoring public and critical interest in Disney.
The animated films released during this period include The Little Mermaid (1989), The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Hercules (1997), Mulan (1998), and Tarzan (1999).
Most of the films Disney released in this era were well-received, as in the film critic site Rotten Tomatoes, the first four - The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King have the best critical reception (with over 90% positive reviews)
Nine of the ten films in the Disney Renaissance were nominated for Academy Awards. The only exception was The Rescuers Down Under in 1990.

It's a tie between The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Mulan.

Well thank God, it is by far the worst among these, I think it's the only Disney movie I watched only once
Anyway, I love all the other nine , but if I had to make a top three it would be like
1 The Hunchback of Notre Dame
2 Mulan
3 The Lion King/Pocahontas
Oh and most of the songs of these 9 movies are still in my iPod

My favorite one of those is The Lion King, I used to watch it with my dad when I was young I also love Beauty & the Beast, but all of them are very good movies.

Re: What is your favorite Disney movie from its golden era (late 1980s - late 1990s)?
Actually the real Golden Era of Disney is the 40s after beginning with Snow White.
My favourites from that era are Snow White (of course), Bambi (made me the animal/environmental rights advocate that I am) and Pinocchio (something about this really made me scared but I still loved it).
From the renaissance era, I would say Aladdin. He was so hot!

You mean Disney Golden Era before Pixar, right?
Disney+Pixar >>> Disney 80s-90s
The Lion King. But Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are also awesome. With The Lion King reached its peak and after that it never won a Grand Slam again (as non computer generated animation films, I mean)

Lion King. The movie with its 'B' team and its music shits all over anything Disney's 'A' team has done.
