BOMBSHELL! 2012: 4 different slam winners in ATP and only 3 in WTA
Such a rare phenomenon nowadays
Australian Open: Novak Djokovic / Victoria Azarenka
Roland Garros: Rafael Nadal / Maria Sharapova
Wimbledon: Roger Federer / Serena Williams
US Open: Andy Murray / Serena Williams
This is the first time it happens in ATP since 2003
Australian Open: Andre Agassi
Roland Garros: Juan Carlos Ferrero
Wimbledon: Roger Federer
US Open: Andy Roddick
So beautiful
2012 Champions!

That happening for the Men is good though. Actually gives the commentators reason to talk of the Big Four.
The women goes to show how great Vika and Serena are this year, and how big of an opportunist Maria is.

Yeah, it legitimize the Big Four talk.
Although I will never understand how you can put Murray and Federer in the same group.
It will soon be wide open for the men as Federer is getting old, Nadal is in serious trouble and Djokovic/Murray can't keep up such defensive style for too many years.
I fully expect Serena, Vika, Maria and Petra (if she can get it right) to dominate the next few years.

Yes, the big 4 hardly made sense for the men before when Murray had less slam titles than Del Potro and Roddick.

How so?? Last time i checked Maria beat Vika IN A FINAL, beat the 3 prior GS winners in succesion to win a title and beat the defending RG champ in another Final(on clay)....she fully earned and deserved every title she won.

So you're telling me your personal feelings towards her have nothing to do with you calling her an opportunist? Like I'm going to buy that. Yeah, she had a cakewalk draw to win Roland Garros. Everyone knows that. Still a pretty good effort considering how shit she used to be on clay and the fact that she hadn't won a slam in 4 years. The rest of the year though...don't see how

In fairness to Maria the girl has beaten Serena and Henin in slam finals. For a 4 slam winner that is mighty impressive. She deserved an easier finalist for once.

Because whenever Venus becomes irrelevant (which she already is), Uranium looks for an outlet to voice out her frustration.

Maria an opportunist? Like only a few players wanted to go to the French Open, you know, for that easy field and appearance money.
So when a cakewalk draw opens, the winner is called an opportunist. Somebody has to win every tournament.

And people wonder why Sharapova fans are arrogant sometimes calling Maria an opportunist because she happened to win a major title on a surface she dominated isn't enough. I can't at Willytards deluded fans.
