Hey beachman49 great examples in Pepperdine and the Lakers.

You should get a big laugh out of this.

FYI tie_breaker posted 2 more replies to us.

It resorted to nothing more than classless name calling and was appropriately deleted by a moderator.

The pup barks only to get muted .

I'm laughing so hard right now.

Re: Ranking 2012-3

As expected, Florida has ascended to #1 in the new rankings. I don't think UNC can catch them, so this pretty much ensures favorites Florida and USC will be in the same half of the NCAA tournament draw (at this point, that half would also include UCLA and Stanford )

Rank Avg School Previous
1 81.60 University of Florida 2
2 77.51 North Carolina 1
3 72.98 University of Georgia 3
4 72.38 Texas A&M University 4
5 70.32 University of Southern California 5
6 57.74 University of Michigan 6
7 57.51 California 9
8 57.19 UCLA 7
9 55.91 University of Alabama 8
10 49.44 University of Miami (Florida) 10
11 49.33 Clemson University 13
12 48.66 Stanford 12
13 46.07 University of Virginia 17
14 44.88 Duke University 11
15 44.05 Northwestern University 16
16 43.54 University of Nebraska 14
--------------------------------------------------------------
17 41.57 Texas Tech University 15
18 40.21 Vanderbilt University 18
19 37.18 Baylor University 28
20 36.76 Rice University 20

In other news Fuller/Garcia remain #1 in the doubles rankings despite losing in the SEC final to Embree/Oyen.

14 44.88 Duke University 11

So, if the season ended today, the bracket might look like this

1 Florida
16 Nebraska

8 UCLA
9 Bama

5 USC
12 Stanford

4 A&M
13 UVA

2 UNC
15 Nwestern

7 Cal
10 Miami

6 Michigan
11 Clemson

3 uga
14 duke

Um, the top half is the bracket of insane death.

Re: Ranking 2012-3

Florida deservedly #1, Virginia continues its climb, as does Clemson, Duke continues to fall.

Will be interesting to see if Duke can keep its ranking up high enough to host a regional or at least be a top seed at a regional. If it can't, can't see the team making it to the round of 16 the way things have been going.

If UNC wins ACC, would that make UNC #1?

1 81.60 University of Florida 2
2 77.51 North Carolina 1

USC really should have won the Indoors, or at least should have beaten UNC..

USC's first road to the final is NOT easy

Re: Ranking 2012-3

Maybe women should follow men by changing the format of Ojai to team competition...

Nah, tradition is tradition

1 81.60 University of Florida 2
2 77.51 North Carolina 1
3 72.98 University of Georgia 3
4 72.38 Texas A&M University 4
5 70.32 University of Southern California 5

9 55.91 University of Alabama 8
10 49.44 University of Miami (Florida) 10
11 49.33 Clemson University 13

12 48.66 Stanford 12
13 46.07 University of Virginia 17
14 44.88 Duke University 11
15 44.05 Northwestern University 16
16 43.54 University of Nebraska 14
17 41.57 Texas Tech University 15

18 40.21 Vanderbilt University 18
19 37.18 Baylor University 28

Even if MICH wins Big Ten, can't bump USC, right? MICH should be pretty satisfied with their 6th place

UCLA has 'hope', since UM and CU can surpass her
On the other hand, CAL will pray that the ranking remains the same
The only ACC team right now at the 'dark side'(difficult upper half) is UVA..

UNC could possibly gain points, but the committee has, in the past, fudged with seedlings if 2 teams are close and the one behind has head to head. I remember this happening to the Florida men several years back. Rated just ahead of Baylor but they lost during the regular season and their seeds were swapped.

But heck, with these brackets, I'd rather be #2

Being practical, aren't we

April 23, 2013

Rank Avg Player Player School
1 65.98 Kate Fuller Silvia Garcia University of Georgia
2 64.44 Kaitlyn Christian Sabrina Santamaria University of Southern California

3 55.05 Patricia Veresova Mary Weatherholt University of Nebraska
4 50.36 Alexa Guarachi Mary Anne Macfarlane University of Alabama
5 48.27 Kata Szekely Brynn Boren University of Tennessee
6 47.99 Kristie Ahn Nicole Gibbs Stanford
7 47.41 Brooke Bolender Emina Bektas University of Michigan
8 46.89 Ema Burgic Victoria Kisialeva Baylor University
9 41.40 Hermon Brhane Whitney Ritchie University of Oklahoma

12 38.50 Lauren Embree Sofie Oyen University of Florida
13 35.68 Courtney Colton Lauren Mira Vanderbilt University
14 33.78 Linda Abu Mushrefova Nida Hamilton Northwestern University

Well, I guess after Ojai is finished USC will regain their #1 ranking

Because Ahn/Gibbsy is #6 and KK/Sabs will definitely beat them again

But.

Gibbsy how can you even LEAVE at this critical time, shouldn't you help KK/Sabs regain the #1 ranking? Where's your sense of Pac 12 solidarity She's even playing dbls with Rogers who beat her at the National final

fantic, why do you prefer the current format of the Pac-12 women championship? I would like to see it switch over to the team format. i'd just like to see the top 4 teams all play each other again...not all of the players always play in the singles/doubles draw every year.

Speculation on what the draw would be if there are no changes.

Because tradition is beautiful?

If not for Ojai, when and where will you get to see Juricova vs Tan or Gibbsy vs Ahn? Aren't YOU curious? I was SO looking forward to Gibbsy vs Krista rematch

Well, we might still get to see KK/Sabs vs Kyle/Cat vs Desirae/Leighann

Hmm, good point. How often does that happen though? What matchups were there over the past few years in the tournament that you liked that we would normally not see in a dual match?
