Didn't see the match, but kind of expected. Andrea even wanted to retire during the Kirilenko match for not feeling well. As a result, she had withdrawn from mixed doubles, but she still plays doubles with Lucie H. Crazy schedule.

I'm convinced that the people who are talking about how terrible it is that Hlavackova got to this point or how embarrassed Kiri should be for losing to her didn't watch a single point of the match. Andrea didn't even play poorly. It wasn't as though she just gave Serena every game with error after error. She averaged about 1 UE per game which isn't bad for someone who plays her style of tennis. In fact I think there were times in the second set where Andrea was playing better than she did when she beat Kirilenko.
It's just that Serena was so completely dominant and unbeatable today that she would've given almost anyone on tour a club level scoreline, no matter how good they were.
I just hope Andrea doesn't go on the walkabout that Petra Cetkovska did after Ana beat her 0 & 0 in the French Open 4th round in 2008 because she doesn't have years to give up to a shot to her confidence. So hopefully she can turn it around in dubs and have another good showing with Lucie.

Pironkova wasn't playing well at all, she step up in that second set but still wasn;t up to her standards. Hlavackova played a lot better than Pironkova. Serena was on Olmypics form.

It was actually much more embarassing for Sharapova and Azarenka, who were humiliated at the Olympics (and in Madrid) despite being TOP5 single players, unlike Andi, who is top5 in doubles, but not even top50 in singles.
