Poll results: Who are you most excited to see compete at the US Open?
This is a poll I came across on the USTA website where fans can vote who they are most excited to see. Listed below are the results so far based on the players included in the poll. The legends appear to generate the most interest.
1. Roger Federer
41.68%
2. Serena Williams
20.54%
3. Novak Djokovic
11.16%
4. Kim Clijsters
10.46%
5. Maria Sharapova
7.47%
6. Andy Murray
7.12%
7. Samantha Stosur
1.56%
Also who are you most excited to see play?
I am excited to see Venus, Serena, Ana (with reservations), Sloane, Sabine was on my list but oh well. As for men James Blake & Juan Martin Del Potro.

definitely federer, serenka, djoko, del potro, na, kvitova, sharapova and clijsters. i will be absolutely dumbfounded if i can see any of them play live, my mouth will remain open for like an hour or so

Wow, Clijsters is really liked in the US.
Sharapova doesn't seem to generate that much buzz. She's respected but not liked.
Weird to see Stosur being an option instead of Wozniacki or Azarenka who just signed with Citizen.

A Russian, Belgian, and Australian more liked than Venus? Or was she not in the poll?

Venus was not in the poll. They were the only players the site listed as an option. I am quite sure Venus would have been in the top 4 if she were included in the poll.

This order is not very surprising. I'd put Djokovic lower than Murray, just because I want to see if he can follow-up his Oly gold. Too bad Venus wasn't on the list.

USTA - american organization, would you like me to check polls in Russia? What's more, it's a tennis site and Serena is 14 GS Champion and deserves to be leading in Tennis sites polls
By the way in this poll you have to choose only 1 player , For instance it's really hard not to click Federer even if you are Pova fan
