Re: 11 seeds out in R1
Although, to be fair, none of them were really considered potential champions here.

Re: 11 seeds out in R1
no need to facepalm; it's what makes grand slams exciting.

Re: 11 seeds out in R1
Why does everyone moan about this. The fact that seeds are dropping out so early makes it more exciting. If there is 1 thing womens tennis has over mens tennis, it's that the tournaments/matches are unpredictable.

Re: 11 seeds out in R1
Görges (18) - having bad year, even if she is overrated its surprising because Pliskovas are not that well known.
Lisicki (16) - was expected, she was "injured" and Cirstea lead h2h 4-1 before their match.
AMG (27) - Probably her biggest contribution to tennis was her tweet from yesterday: "Serena n1"
Wozniacki (8) - Definitely the bombshell, even Deathbedniacki was hapless.
Niculescu (26) - waste of draw?
Schiavone (22) - On the brink of retirement.
Zakopalova (24) - 0-9 lifetime record in USO first round. Seeded, yeah...
Peng (32) - Losing to Vesnina is something tho.
Paszek (29) - No Wimbledon, no party.
McHale (21) - No results lately. How is she even seeded that high?
how many is real surprise here? Görges & Wozniacki probably, maybe Peng.
