Audrey is a legend My favorite film of hers is Roman Holiday

Grace was so elegant, I really enjoyed her dramatic turn in The Country Girl. Even tough I still think Judy should have won

Re: "The Golden Age" Classic Cinema Lovers

Favorite actress for that era is easily Bette Davis. Favorite actor is between James Dean, Montgomery Clift, and James Stewart.

Monty was so dreamy

Too bad the drugs, alcohol, and car accident took it away

I've seen these. You should watch 12 Angry Men (1957). I love the flick. Seen it many times.

Other than that, I've seen, kinda liked and still remember (besides Czechoslovak B/Ws):
-Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
-Rope (1948)
-Night and the City (1950)
-Strangers on a Train (1951)
-The Killing (1956)
-Pickpocket (1959)
-Psycho (1960)

I love Hollywood oldies - but any and every retrospective begins for me with Chaplin's Easy Street (1917) with huge Eric Campbell and beautiful Edna Purviance.

Old movies i've seen so many of the 30's and 40's movies I agree Monty was so dreamy and a great actor too. Everyone should see one of his first movie : The Search, it's a really moving picture 😞

Oh and as actresses go, Barbara is the best but also bette, Kate, irene, JoanF, Olivia, Déborah, Vivien, Ingrid, ...

Heard Liz Taylor saved his life after the accident by pulling out his teeth from his throat; it was choking him.

Also good choice to name a Maggie Sullavan movie Easily my best actress of the era. She helped Jimmy Stewart early in his career.

And I was pretty impressed watching D.G. Griffith's silent movie collection(not the feature length ones); it had everything, he touched every kind of social aspect imaginable.. as Chaplin said, he really was 'the father of us all'
