Christina's best era since Back to Basics will probably be Burlesque, which did OK at the box office and had a soundtrack which sold internationally, which you can't say for that many musical OSTs (over 1 million shipped WW, case-study contrast with Dreamgirls OST which sold about 1 million in the US and didn't chart anywhere else - so similar sales but wider overall impact for Burlesque).

How is that possible?

Overall I give "Lotus" a 6.5/10- Good but not great Its not a very coherent album as a whole.
It sad that she seems unsure about where the album and in essence, her career is going.

Stand-out tracks have to be "Let There Be Love" , "Army of Me" and "Red Hot Kinda Love"

I'm not a fan of what I've heard at all. "Army of Me" is really good for something she wrote herself, but it's still kinda Kelly Clarkson-lite for me.

I might actually give this one a miss, like I am with Pink's album too (even though I like her as much if not more than Xtina usually).

i would give the album a 5 or a 6 out of 10

the only song i would recommend is Army of Me

the songs are mostly generic and bland, very disapointing

Finally gave it a listen today.

It's a very mixed bag, just like Bionic was. A lot of filler. If we could take the best songs from Bionic and Lotus, we would have a decent album!

The songs that I liked - Lotus (Intro), Army Of Me, Shut Up.

'Army Of Me' should be the next single definitely, probably the only track from the album that I could see having moderate success. 'Let There Be Love' is another one that could be a hit, but it sounds too much like Girl Gone Wild

Some of the ballads were okay, but very forgettable. Haven't really been impressed by any of her ballads since 'Hurt'.

The rest of the album I didn't really like. Some of the songs I'm very surprised even made the cut. I was really hoping she would make a consistent album after Bionic, but this might even more of a mess. And it's still just shocking to me that she would go out and promote 'The Voice', but won't do promo for her own album. This will most probably another commercial disaster for her.

^ "Let there Be Love" should in theory be eaten up by mainstream radio. I don't think it should matter if it sounds like a million other songs because that's the nature of pop these days. Reduce, reuse, recycle .

The best move for her would be to release an album of blues/standards covers.
