^^ LOL That point annoyed me so much! There was a big ass open court on the left side but NO, retard-pova chose to hit the ball right to where sarin was standing 
It proved crucial at the end and martha payed the price for it

I mean, Serena was like wayyy behind the baseline, and she hit it right there One point could have made so much of a difference, and the fact that she was play SO well, those returns on Serena's serves  but then just gifted the 1st set.

I wonder if missing so much hardcourt practice will make her hungrier and go for it during the Asian swing...  That would be indeed a nice quest to finally grab that long awaited YE 1st spot

I am not so optimistic about USO (not enough training and practice), but expect good results in Tokyo, Beijing and Istanbul.
However year end #1 will be very, very difficult for Maria. In reality if Vika will have in NY better or equal result to Maria's then practically will be nearly impossible for Maria to be #1

I really am not obsessed with the YE no.1 or anything... Top 5 finish is enough for me. I do not expect a stellar USO simply because practicing or not, she sucks there, it would be nice if she played the Asian part of the tour and some good results there would be nice to see... But there's no such thing that I expect now.. OK, I do, a good YEC...
