Kimbledon 2012
[1] Maria Sharapova (RUS) v Anastasia Rodionova (AUS)
[Q] Vesna Dolonc (SRB) v Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL)
Hsieh Su-Wei (TPE) v [WC] Virginie Razzano (FRA)
Stephanie Foretz Gacon (FRA) v [29] Monica Niculescu (ROU)
[23] Petra Cetkovska (CZE) v Vania King (USA)
Sloane Stephens (USA) v [Q] Karolina Pliskova (CZE)
Bojana Jovanovski (SRB) v Eleni Daniilidou (GRE)
Petra Martic (CRO) v [15] Sabine Lisicki (GER)
[12] Vera Zvonareva (RUS) v Mona Barthel (GER)
Edina Gallovits-Hall (ROU) v Silvia Soler-Espinosa (ESP)
Chang Kai-Chen (TPE) v Andrea Hlavackova (CZE)
Kim Clijsters (BEL) v [18] Jelena Jankovic (SRB)
[28] Christina McHale (USA) v [WC] Johanna Konta (GBR)
Lesia Tsurenko (UKR) v Mathilde Johansson (FRA)
Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) v Alberta Brianti (ITA)
Lucie Hradecka (CZE) v [8] Angelique Kerber (GER)
------------------------------------------------
Tough first round match. Jankovic is in a terrible slump but she has made some big upsets on grass before and her game has always bugged Kim. But realy not too bad of a draw. Zvonareva may withdraw in which case Cibulkova would take her place I believe. All in all it could have been worse. If she ends up being 100% healthy anything is possible.
Come on Kim!!!!!

Re: Kimbledon 2012
I think her biggest opponent is her health. If she is fit then we can hope for a good tournament otherwise not.

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Hmmm. doesnt look like an easy draw. lot of iffy match ups esp after 3rd round.
1st round : Jankovic (this should be ok)
2nd round : someone random
3rd round : zvonareva/barthel (lost to vera in last wimby, but most likely will get through this)
4th round : Kerber
quarters : Sharapova
semi : Stosur/radwanska/venus
final: serena/petra/azarenka

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Carl Maes called Wimbledon (well, his connections there ) to ask for a late start on Tuesday, but they were all about traditions so probably no late start!

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Well, I guess all we can do is wait and see...
Sam and Carl are being pretty reassuring, that's for sure but in the end, an injury's an injury, at least mentally speaking. Kim may know it's due to her playing matches in a row, it's still there, in the back of your mind. Or maybe not so much if it really is a precautionary measure.
I don't really know what to expect. I'm just happy if I can see her play a few matches with some great tennis and without any physical problems, because it's the same old equation: no physical hindrances + tennis level as it should be = wins.
That 1st round match could be interesting, but although I really like JJ, I'm not sure I want it to be that interesting if you get my drift. Kim doesn't exactly need to spend 2 hours on the court right now.
But hey, COME OOOOON!

Dewulf Filip tweeted: "Kim Clijsters practiced quite freely for 45 minutes. No smash or serve though. Looked good. #Wimbledon"

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Good enough. Tough to play a seed to start even if JJ ain't at her best...
Hope Kim can stick around a few rounds more.

Re: Kimbledon 2012
That could have been a lot trickier. Kim seemed to be moving well. Anything less than a quarterfinal would be disappointing so this was an important win. After the match Kim said in her press that Jada asked her if she had to wear white too.

Re: Kimbledon 2012
LOL @ Jada's comment
I couldn't see the match (had to leave at 2-0 first set), but the scoreline is decent, and Kim did not have to spend too much time on court, so that's positive I guess. She (and we )will have to take it one match at a time...

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Jada is so cute and funny
Kim played alright out there. Far from her best but a win's a win. I really hope her game improves though.

Re: Kimbledon 2012
Kim can do much better and I honestly think she will. R2 against Hlavackova, right?
