Not the best performance against a deceptively tricky opponent. But I'll take the win, still a little too sluggish for my liking though. Do well againest Sabine, Maria.

Of course, they are as usual! nothing new

I am personally a bit concerned about her display of tennis in the 2nd set, but then she can't (or rather doesn't have to) play a 100% frigging flawless match all the time, for god's sake. There will always be days where her game is sluggish and she just needs to find a way to win.

Just be grateful that there is less drama and done in straights

Plus, she was playing for 3 consecutive days. The first two tough sets of her pironkova match probably would have drained her mentally a bit. Then you have the awful condition today with strong wind. So Puh-LEASEEEE

I believe in her that she will get her shit together. Have some faith!!! Just keep winning maria

Well if she gets by Lisicki they might put her on centre against her next opponent so maybe the conditions won't be an issue Might even be on centre against Lisicki idk..

Re: [Wimbledon 2012] What does Moo eat? Grass!

In the first set, Maria was pretty good. She was hitting well and serving well. 0 dfs, 75% 1st serve points won, 88% 2nd serve points won and her W/UE was 7-1. It was only that second set where it got messy.

I think a lot of that was due to the wind but if you look at that second set, it was only one side of the court where she was really struggling, and losing her serve. On the other side, she was actually holding serve quite easily and hitting well.

So even though it wasn't Maria's best match, there were some good patches of form from her in the match.

Re: [Wimbledon 2012] What does Moo eat? Grass!

Stop panicking, I still stand by my words that she played really well. Hes mistakes came of Hsieh's tricky shots and due to the wind. Btw, her second serve was GOAT in this match, I don't care what the stats tell. Apart from the DFs, ofc, but I still think they were mainly because of wind.

God, the vulture cruises through I'm close to vomiting when I even think of her being in Wimbledon semis, let alone at number 1 But, we all know Masha won't let her, so...

I'm sure Maria fought with her mental fatigue as well, she hasn't lost a match in a while.

Re: [Wimbledon 2012] What does Moo eat? Grass!

Seeing Clijsters playing on windy C1 actually makes me feel better about Maria's performance, even though I'm not as worried as a lot of people. I'm maybe starting to agree with 18majors about mental fatigue though, however I think it would take another couple of matches to judge.

Re: [Wimbledon 2012] What does Moo eat? Grass!

I only watched the second set: what a mess! She was so tight at the end of it!

Lisicki, after sucking for months, will obviously come out firing. It goes without saying. I caught glimpses of her match against Sloane. If Lisicki had an average FS, she won't even be in the top 50 in my opinion. But obviously everything will click against Maria! Hopefully our girl will win again!

Maria will fire herself up when she reminds herself over the weekend that she has the responsibility to beat Radwanska at SF.

If Maria dished bakery goods to Bottomfeeder I would die. But I can't think of that, still two matches to win before that happens.

Like others I'm expecting Bine to play well too, she needn't pull those antics she did in AO though. However Maria playing her best should beat Bine comfortably enough.

Ah, let me just say this: Hsieh's game and strokes are awful! She's the opposite of esthetically-pleasing tennis!

Maria definately plays the most aesthetically pleasing tennis. A true display of elegance on the court.
