Re: Grass (finally)

62 62

Good start despite the DFs. A second title here looks indeed very possible with all the seeds falling one after another! Wozniak is a serious hurdle obviously, it will be a tougher challenge than Cirstea.
So glad the clay court season is over for her, hope she gets herself into position for Istanbul very soon!

Re: Grass (finally)

Indeed, top 3 seeds all gone now.. Hope Marion doesnt screw this chance up. Next match will be very telling against someone whos beaten her a few times before. Not sure of her grass pedigree however.

aleks's best surface is clay, she's okay on hard but grass is by far her worst surface. Marion should be able to get her first win over her here

As top seed now, hope next match will be played on center court.

This draw has opened up so much it's ridiculous.

Re: Grass (finally)

takes the first set 6-2

fell down 0-40 serving for it but played well to dig herself out of that and win the next 5 points

Re: Grass (finally)

2 + 2 again and she played brilliantly, about as well as she can. 24 winners and 8 errors. Safarova next, she has a terrific H2H against her but she did have to save a MP against her last year so..

Re: Grass (finally)

That looked like a practice session for her. Sharp tennis from Marion who sounds very confident.
Despite that one-sided H2H, I'm always nervous when she plays Lucie. This time, Lucie doesn't seem to be playing well. We will check that tomorrow!
Allez !

Re: Grass (finally)

4 + 2 Not as good as yesterday but that was never going to happen. 18-9, and 8 aces. Tough semi next, probably against Pironkova..

Re: Grass (finally)

So dominant. Last year matchpoint down, three setter, this year another comfortable straight set win.

Re: Grass (finally)

It seems she practiced well after bad clay season. My expectations are high from Marion in grass. Good luck!
