2012 NCAA Individual (Singles + Doubles) Tournament

I figured we should have a separate thread for this.

The singles draw is here: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/...nsSingles1.pdf

and doubles is here: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/...nsDoubles1.pdf

I'll type out the draws and put them in the next posts and keep the results updated. Feel free to post predictions, thoughts, etc!

about time, so over team tourney now thx

Thank God USC avoided A/M
But quite a tough draw, they meet DUKE vs UGA winner in the next round I personally hope they meet UO, I like that savvy team

OLE MISS seeded and they meet CAL
UNC dbls too, they meet TENN

1st group is really tough; WAATC finalist UF, dark horse UA, NIIC finalist ND, one of the best #2 dbls team STAN, UNLV invite winner (routed KK/Sabs in the final) UCLA...

Re: 2012 NCAA Individual (Singles + Doubles) Tournament

Looks like Oyen got in as an alternate replacing Cieplucha(SMU).

Pretty well balanced draws. If I had to guess, I'd go with Gullickson and Burdette/Gibbs, but I think both titles are up for grabs.

I'll also go with Chelsey but B/G lost to KK/Sabs twice, RECENTLY
(the USC team were leading 7-2 at the NCAA Quarterfinal, even )

Re: 2012 NCAA Individual (Singles + Doubles) Tournament

They should've made a special entry for McCall Jones, who won a set against Gibbs at Ojai and beat Lao

then Gibbs vs Embree final

Dangerous floaters:
Denise Dy
Petra Niedermayerova
Danielle Lao
Stacy Tan
looking forward to Tan vs Beazant

and the 2nd group is pretty weak(CSQ top seed there)

and, although Petra beat Embree at WAATC, and Tan beat Juricova at Ojai, Dy wasn't that impressive this season, no?

Re: 2012 NCAA Individual (Singles + Doubles) Tournament

That's true. Dy meets Burdette in 2nd round possibly, so maybe not a floater. Burdette is too consistent.

Dy might not have been good this season but I think her game is still good and dangerous.

Mal is the opposite of consistency, just look at Ojai and NCAA team result
