Re: Claypova in Rome: Veni, vidi, vici. The Sequel ...
I know! I don't get why it reminded them of Cincy though. To me the Davenport Wimby is a much better comparison since the rain delay was on her side in both occasions.

Re: Claypova in Rome: Veni, vidi, vici. The Sequel ...
At 0-4 in the second I thought she was gone. Funnily enough Jo Durie kept mentioning how often Li can go AWOL all of the sudden and bang on spot, that's what she did. Then I had more bad feelings when Maria blew 2xGP for 5-1 and threw Li a lifeline. I wonder how long I can live with this kind of matches especially in the finals. Sure, this one didn't end at 3:30 am like the Kirilenko nightmare, but I'm pushing my limits too much. If only Serena somehow bombed out at RG, we have a chance of Maria completing the career Slam. But not with -39 W/UE ration and 10 DF along the way

What an epic shitfest really proud of her. And the way she saved yet another match point. That's what champions are made of, and very few players pull that kind of shit off.
Just win the French Open now please

She beat Vika, Na Li, Sam, Petra, Kerber, Ana, Venus in this clay season so if she doesn't draw Serena at RG she'll be fine.

Oh, and also, I love how Maria continues to surprise everyone and improve on last seasons record.
She improved her 2011 Australian Open points, then her IW/Miami double header, and now she's done the same in her Madrid/Rome double header!

Yeah but she is getting there IMO. I don't know about you but I love the fight who is in her since that horrendous final in Miami she won her last 2 finals, one in a fashion way and the other one with so much fight this is great to see. I never thought that she would win after being 6-4 4-0 this is really the fight that I wanted to see in big finals. Congrats Masha.

It's really weird but when Maria was down 63 30 against Azarenka in Australia I immediately stopped watching, went to sleep and only knew of the bagel the next day. I didn't stop watching this one for some reason. I believe more in her now, as does Maria herself
Hopefully she scores at the French Open and wins a couple more tournaments in the USO Series. I want her to finish the year with at least 5 titles.
