Till 26 12 Aga played like a crap. Error after error, no first serv, yelling around. Poor performance.
Then the true Aga came back.

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
Aga started quite well. But leading 2:1 with break she couldn't find her first serve and all game collapsed till 1:2 in the second set

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
Very nice win, Aga!
Head To Head now 3-2. Sweet revenge for the Wimbledon loss
Aga was an UE machine in 1st set, then improved her quality a lot in next 2 sets. The game in 3rd set at 3-1 with many deuces was the key. Aga won it - she is mentally so strong. Played some great tennis at important moments. And had to because Li is very dangerous on clay and showed some of her best tennis.
SF vs Azarenka. We all know Azarenka is the clear favourite. But good luck, Aga!

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
I really hate Aga - Azarenka matches. Azarenka always plays her best tennis and is super-motivated to win. Aga got killed the last 3 times they met. Zero chance to win. The problem is Aga clearly lacks power and her weak serve. Also I don`t understand why Aga so often hit the ball to Azarenka`s backhand - and not her forehand.
And now some insider info from German Eurosport commentator
He said yesterday morning (the day they played their SF) Aga and Vika were having breakfast at the same time in the players` hotel and they sat on tables exactly on opposite sides of the room. They really can`t stand each other anymore

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
Yes, the match was very one sided. It was competitive at the beginning and the end of the second set,but that's it. It's probably for the best though, losing this badly will push Agnieszka to improve more and more. Azarenka beat Sharapova this badly twice this year and Pova is actually showing nice improvements to her game. It's actually kind of funny how ridiculously Azarenka owns Martha, Agatha and Sam who themselves are excellent players. Hopefully they can turn their rivalries around at some point.
As far as their personal relationship looks like, who cares.

Actually the only ones to challenge Azarenka this year was Barthel and Cibulkova

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
They weren't the only ones. Agnieszka breadsticked Azarenka and was up a break before running out of steam in Sydney SF, Li breadsticked her in Sydney F, Clijsters breadsticked her in AO SF and Bartoli obviously won. Cibulkova though was the only one to make Azarenka look totally useless, of course until she got tight and let Azarenka into the match.

Maybe they can stand each other, but I think that not many players eat breakfest with the people they play against a couple of hours later. Look at Vika: she uses headphones, she wants to be alone. Breakfast with Aga wouldn't be something she wanted. And Aga obviously is tired of losing to her this year.

Re: Back in Europe (Copenhagen, Stuttgart, Fes, Madrid, Cagnes, Rome, Prague, Brussel
Aga will be a Top3 player next week!
Last year Madrid was played a week earlier. Petra won is, so she loses almost 1000 points on Monday. We can't say that Aga did nothing to be Number 3, but it can look like this if we take only this week into account Good job Aga!

I wish she had better slam results to back up that ranking. #3 almost exclusively on the back of tier one performances is not good.
