Lepchenko is good though.
Falconi is just
McHale & Lepchenko can guide the team through, or infact maybe they still believe in Oudin! After her dream run this week.

I said they COULD which is definitely possible. Katya sucks ATM to be honest
And I only care about Koryttseva

I'm pretty sure Serena said in an interview that she was planning on going to her home in Paris after Fed Cup to practice on European clay. I don't know why she would have said anything about Fed Cup if she had no intention of playing. I don't know about Venus, but don't both sisters need to play in order to be eligible for the Olympics? Not sure...

Go and check the olympic entry list thread, serena is not there she has to play this to be eligible so I would imagine she will be here.

Don't you only need to make yourself "available?" Not the same thing as playing.

Well that excuse matters only when the coach doesn't want the player on the team. For example, if King needed to play the tie to fulfill the Olympics requirement but the coach chose WS, Mchale and Huber, she wouldn't be denied a spot because she made herself available. But do you seriously think USA would not want Serena on their team if she's making herself available?

No, I think it's more Serena doesn't want to go to Ukraine despite being available

Re: Ukraine vs USA Fed Cup World Group Playoffs 2012
Why do Serena and Vee have to play??? Dont you have to play just 1 tie???
The team from Ukraine should be Tsurenko, Bondarenko, Svitolina and Zanevska (she has won 42 of her last 45 matches and has won the last 23 matches in a row)

You have to play two ties from 2009 to 2012, and at least one of them has to be in 2011 or 2012
But what about Paszek for example? She played 3 ties but all in the same week since it was zonal and it was the only time she played in the last 4 years so I'm not sure if it counts
Anyways I'm surprised that the Kichenoks were chosen, since they haven't done much lately. Ukrainian tennis is a mess ATM. They could have so many players in the top 100. Alona has injury problems. Vakulenko and Perebiynis disappeared. Beygelzimmer is on the right track back to the top 100 but wasn't chosen for this tie. Savchuk and Koryttseva aren't that good anymore. Fedak And Antoniyuchuk disappeared. Luzhanska switched countries. The other good youngsters have failed to deliver . And where's Kutuzova? She was doing well towards the end of last year. I always thought she had top 50 potential
