" USC is 18-59 all-time against Stanford after falling 6-1 to the Cardinal last season in Pac-10 play at Marks Stadium. USC's last win over Stanford was a 5-2 victory in 2009 in Los Angeles. It was USC's first win over Stanford in 23 years, snapping a 50-match losing streak to the Cardinal."

Re: Pac 12

For those that have seen Lynn Chi play, any idea where she would fit in Cal's singles line-up?

Well that USC win over Stanford no longer counts because it was vacated after USC was found guilty with lack of institutional control.

USC still has a losing streak against Stanford for over 25 years and 55-matches.

Re: Pac 12

USC describes the Ojai tournament this way. There was some discussion that the tournament format would be changed as part of the PAC-12 move.

PAC-12 PLAN
There will be a 32-player women's singles draw and a 16-team women's doubles draw at the annual Pac-12 Tennis Tournament in Ojai, Calif. The draw will be determined no later than 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24. Matches begin on Thursday (April 26) morning. All Pac-12 Tournament women's matches except the finals will be played at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club. The Pac-12 singles championship match is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in Libbey Park, and the doubles final will follow. The Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament is a 112-year tradition, dating back to 1887. The four-day tennis extravaganza includes competition for juniors, non-Pac-12 collegiate players, and an open event. The Pac-12 has had a presence at the event since 1954.

Doesn't matter to me, they played and they won

That match was the high point of Alison probably, beating Jessica Nguyen at #5? to clinch the win

I feel like USC is trying to assume the role of the 'Farm', developing lesser ranked players

The original 'Farm' Stanford is not a Farm at all really, since they just poach top junior talents, and frankly, college sports' result = recruiting

Wow, Utah has had some up and down scores. But are there a lot of names missing from the ASU side?

I'm thinking that Cal is doing a good job of "uncovering hidden" top junior talent, and then getting some improvement out of them while in school. (even that I'm on the side of feeling some public colleges have too many international players. But I give Cal credit for finding real talent, and not just falling into the assumption some coaches do that all imports are better then buying American.) Gawd, thats awful writing, I need to either erase this or drink some coffee. Or both.
