Miami 2012
[14] Julia Goerges (GER) vs Bye
Jarmila Gajdosova (AUS) vs Kim Clijsters (BEL)
Marina Erakovic (NZL) vs Mathilde Johansson (FRA)
[23] Yanina Wickmayer (BEL) vs Bye
[29] Petra Cetkovska (CZE) vs Bye
Galina Voskoboeva (RUS) vs Christina McHale (USA)
[Q] vs Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (CZE)
[4] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs Bye
Could face either Serena or Stosur if she gets through to the quarterfinal. Not an easy draw... Kim should be alright so long as she can shake off the rust quickly. Gajdosova should self-destruct given her error-filled game, that should be a good first match.
Come on Kim!

Re: Miami 2012
What a draw! It should be an hard 1st round considering Gajdosova will either miss everything or make millions of winners. Not the best match to get some rhythm, but I expect Kim to win.

Filip Dewulf recently saw Kim and he said that she was physically fit, as ever !

Re: Miami 2012
She shouldn't have too much trouble getting through her quarter. Unless she's really rusty. I'm curious about her shape and fitness levels after all this time; It should be top notch. Enough to her to the quarters.

Re: Miami 2012
Kim won 4-6/ 6-1 / 6-0
Kim was a break up in the 1st set aswell, but still lost it, from 2nd set, she just cruised on!!
Nice start I think even if she lost the first set and as good as we could expect!
bit hard to tell how she played with just the live scores! Hope she will still be in the tournament by Sunday, I really want to see a match

Re: Miami 2012
Kim won her 1st round match against Gajdosova 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 Struggled in the first, but came out firing in the second and third sets, completed in less than an hour (Gajdosova held serve down 0-5 in the second and that was it), sounds like as if she shook off the rust aftere the 1st set Keep improving Kim

Re: Miami 2012
Nice win for Kim! Although this is very eerie of Miami in 2007... Kim loses the first set to Rolle I believe 4-6 then won 6-0 6-0. She was rusty though and of course eventually retired later that year because of injury problems. It's nothing that can be compared, really, just weird observation. Apparently Kim used some drop shots in the end of the match.
Any idea why she was wearing the black ribbon?

Re: Miami 2012
^^^ last week, a bus with belgian 12 year-olds from 2 schools crashed in Switzerland coming back from a ski trip.
22 kids and 6 adults died, 28 others were injured.
Today the first memorial service was held
it's really sad and emotional and Kim already send a message saying how touched she was by this...
