Re: Miami. 2012

Yay!! - Masha not only defeated Li and broke the vicious losing circle at last - she in addition bageled Li 63, 60 - in a not very exiting match - Now Serena - which I think will her next opponent - is a whole different story - but who knows - Maybe Masha still has some surprises up her sleeve *hopeful look*

Re: Miami. 2012

You have to laugh, not one person in here has even for a milisecond considered Wozniacki as a potential SF opponent. Bless her!

I was just thinking and how epic would it be if Maria actually won Miami beating Li/Serena/Vika back to back. Title of vengence!

Serena, who also defeated her on a grasscourt in the past couple of years too

Re: Miami. 2012

Who came out with the perfect strategy to play Li, Maria or Hogstedt? A new strategy is also needed for either Serena or Azarenka.

Re: Miami. 2012

I had a feeling Maria would win this but sure didn't expect Na to be this bad.
Bad quality overall but at least no DFs and a win over Na must be good for her confidence. Play better next round.

By the way, hi guys I've been coming on TF and Maria's forum in specific for a long time but I never really bothered to post.

Re: Miami. 2012

But that wasn't even the biggest highlight of today. The REALLY awesome part of Maria's win was...

NO DOUBLE FAULTS!!!

Not one! Not a single one! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Does anyone know off the top of their head if she's had a no-DF match since her comeback? I know she's almost done it a few times recently, but I don't remember her having none whatsoever in a match.

Re: Miami. 2012

It's really a mystery to me how she hit 11 DFs in her last match and no DFs today, even if the wind was way stronger today!

THIS! I can't believe we lived to see Maria play a match without serving a single double fault. I was so ecstatic after this win, like I haven't been for some time (possibly Maria-Kvitova or Djoker-Murray/Nadal AO). Granted, the match was pretty much a La shitfest, but Maria got a lot from it.

She finally got her revenge on Li (should boost her confidence that with the right tactics, she can beat players who made her look like a punching bag in the past), she BAGELED Li, and on top of everything else, she hasn't made a single DF (like someone said, how many matches after the comeback did she do it in? probably none )
