Pleasantly surprised to see Queen Beysus leading the poll. That said, if you want to give her some competition where are Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia? I favor her over both of them, but they are all light years ahead of Britney, etc.

LOL, 1: They were perfect and appropriate for the song and artist she was covering. 2: There is nothing wrong with grunts, growls, melisma, etc. My favorite singers Beyonce, Mariah and Whitney have all used these techniques to make a good performance great, or a great one spectacular. It's Christina who grunts like a lion on every other note that makes it insufferable. I used to be a fan of her's WAY back in the day, but her continued oversinging coupled with simply unacceptable technique in her mid-upper range has completely turned me off from her. I can listen to some of her studio work, but live? And hearing her absolutely butcher classics like "O Holy Night" and "At Last"(numerous times) was the straw that broke the camel's back.
