Re: ~Miami: Queen Venus fights into the quarters~
Why is she so fatigued though? I just don't get it. Venus had this thing for years and did not know, she played without a diagnosis and she has never looked like this. She even made top 2 and went on a tear in 2010.
2011 was a lot tougher, we had the hip injury and we saw her at Wimbledon last year how her movement was clearly hampered.
So my question is since she was diagnosed she has clearly been advised by doctors and has changed her diet, so why does she look this out-of-it???

Venus writes, "As a little girl I practiced no fewer than five hours a day, every single day of the year." Then she added something telling: "The only time we got a break was when it rained, which is why, to this day, I still find rain comforting."
This week started with a hurricane. I hope she found some comfort in the rain.

Re: ~Miami: Queen Venus fights into the quarters~
I have faith in her picking up enough ranking points over the red clay season, so Charleston just seems like a bad idea to me. Post-2004 she's never done well on the green clay, and her movement on it is absolutely dire. I can only imagine how labored she'd be on it this year. But I guess winning a round or two and then giving a walkover would be good.....
But @ Venus in her press conference saying she woke up in a coma this morning.

I'm assuming without the proper care her condition got worse, many health syndromes progress overtime.

Yeah I hear you, Charleston may be a bad idea, but Venus has to take the risk at this point. Hey, if by some miracle she wins Charleston she will qualify for the Olympics.

I don't think any of us can answer that tbh
I guess the only thing I'd say is that its an incurable disease? There isn't ever going to be a time when she isn't prone to fatigue?
Oh and it seems like she suffers more during the day/heat

Re: ~Miami: Queen Venus fights into the quarters~
I'd also like to see Vee play Charleston. I don't think having a month/weeks off will help her that much when she doesn't know how she is going to feel from day to day anyway. Saying that, it would be better if she had at least a full week off to recharge from Miami but I still think she should give the green stuff a go to try and collect some points.
Anyway, Miami has been extremely positive!! I am full of admiration for Vee

I would love to read her perspective on her run to the quarters.

Re: ~Miami: Queen Venus fights into the quarters~
I hate when ppl say since Serena lost Venus was bound to lose also. that may have happened more than once before, but it seems that simply wasn't the case with this loss today.

Re: ~Miami: Queen Venus fights into the quarters~
Well im very glad i was in class and didnt have 2 watch this. Obviously disappointing but we are all very proud of Vee showing what a great champion/inspiration she is this week.
I think Venus should withdraw from Charleston, play Fed cup as planned and enter Stuttgart and then have a week off before the big clay court swing. That would be way 2 sensible for Venus and her management 2 do though based on what they have done past seasons.
