Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
thx.
possibly UF vs UGA as expected from the beginning, I guess?
DOUBLES
WILL/OYEN GULLICKSON/FULLER
EMBREE/MATHER
CERCONE/JANOWICZ
SINGLES
WILL GULLICKSON
EMBREE KOWASE
OYEN GILCHRIST
MATHER KIMBELL
CERCONE ELLIS
JANOWICZ FULLER
HITIMANA ANGHELESCU, JERJOMINA
I dunno, UGA MUST win the doubles if they want an upset, and it's not impossible, methink. But UF lower positions are SO solid.. :sigh:

Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
it's a bit surprising that Univ. of Arkansas is the 3rd highest ranked team in the conference, at #13, ahead of VAND, TENN, USC, OLE MISS..
Well they did play at College Station, but they had Miseviciute then..

Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
GA and Fla will be a titanic battle in a couple weeks. GA was far stronger than their pre-season ranking which was configured on the assumption Gullickson would turn pro rather than come back. If their # 2 player Gilchrist is healthy this could really go deep into the match to figure a winner.
I like GA to win dubs. Gullickson plays up to her competition and will win at 1. I like Fla at 2 (versus Gilchrist), GA at 3 (Kowasse), lower lines are toss-ups. Playing at home will be big for Fla, especially considering GA will have to lean on two highly touted freshmen down low to pull it out. Will be tough but it can be done. What that said, I think Fla pulls it out 4-3 with a neutral site rematch in SECs to be interesting. Stan, Fla, and GA are ahead of the rest of the field. Duke and UNC are not at their level currently. And I know UNC beat GA early in the season 4-3 in a third set tiebreak to determine the outcome but GA's # 2 player did not play that match. She plays and it's completely different.

Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
Good to hear. That isn't meant to be an anti-Florida comment, but to say that sports are more exciting when there are multiple teams that can reasonably predicted to win the biggest prizes.

Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
I absolutely cannot wait for that match. Hoping that everyone on each side is healthy and that we can have a great showdown. So happy that Chelsey is back and climbing the rankings again

Well yea, without Nadja I don't stand by my statement. You conveniently forget to qualify many things.

Re: SEC Women Tennis 2011
Tennessee won 4-1. Florida beat Vandy 4-0, so that's the final tomorrow.

maybe if Nadia played UGA could've won..who knows. Why didn't she even play doubles, unlike against USC? injury?
Kimbell was playing 6 and finished by playing 3
I do wanted to see Gilchrist/Kimbell again at Stanford..hmm..
