PYW Doubles Bogotá

Welcome to Bogotá, Colombia! This year the tournament has been given a slightly easier slot than last year, being placed the same week as Doha, rather than Dubai and Memphis, so that it is one of two subsequent events on the calendar, rather than three. Unfortunately, the line-up is rather weak this year, with top seeds Czech Eva Birnerová and Russian Alexandra Panova being the only team to rank in the top 200. However, the draw doesn't lack big names, as a wildcard team of Argentine top ten doubles player Gisela Dulko will combine with her formerly-retired compatriot, Paola Suárez, one of the most successful South American players ever. Similarly, the bottom half isn't stacked ranking-wise, but there are may interesting teams, such as Canadian Sharon Fichman and Chinese Sheng-Nan Sun, the second seeds, or popular European players Luxembourger Mandy Minella and Swiss Stefanie Vögele.
