Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards
I expect Barty to be promoted to the MD and Sanders (as 18s runner-up) to get her qualifying wildcard.
I also have a feeling that TA may give Laura Robson an MD wildcard. She's ranked about 130, a former Aussie and fairly well known in Australia. Stranger things have happened...

Laura hasn't lived in Australia since she was 18 months old. If they gave her a Wildcard I would expect Barty would get one in return for Wimbledon!

As the junior winner from 2011 It is safe to say that Barty will already be getting a wildcard of some sort at Wimbledon.

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards
I Don't think they will give Robson one. Although if Sally or Bojana don't show much form over the summer then it may be a slight possibility. Ash will most probably get a MD WC for Wimbledon as they usually have pretty slim pickings for wildcards there and they've given the junior winner one in the past.

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards
So with the WC playoffs nearly done, it looks like Casey, Liv and Ashleigh have proven themselves worth of MD WC.
Izzy was dissapointing. Boj did well but is an unknown quantity at that level. Sally's probably lost her chance. Arina might be in with a shot and we still don't know if Nastya will need one or not. Plus, we don't know if Ashleigh will accept one, even if she is offered it. And who knows if Sophie F is going to want to play.
It's all a bit up in the air at the moment!

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards
Agreed re the first three, I also think Issy is in because TA will reward her for the ranking improvement over the year and she has always been a TA fave and competed well in previous years.
Then we have Rodionova(s), Bobusic and Peers. I dare say they will almost certainly wait and see how they all go at Brisbane and whoever does better will get the last spot. Wish Monique was fit and healthy too so she could be in the mix but sadly thats not going to happen!

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards
Casey has been confirmed for MDWC's into AO, Brisbane and Hobart. Duckworth also got a WC for AO.

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards - Dec 14 Update
Will two people hurry up and withdraw from Aussie Open already!
I want the assurance that Anastasia is in and we can utilize that wildcard on Bojana or Arina.

Exactly this will also then have a flow on effect on other wildcards over weeks 1 and 2, I would imagine if Rodi gets direct into ao she will be left in qualies at brisbane, as there is a good chance she will be a seed there and then given a md wc for sydney along with Dokic.

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards - Dec 16 Update
How long can Monique use her SR for? She's using it for Bris but surely she can't use it for AO cos she already did so this year right? Seems like she's had it for quite a while now (not that I'm complaining).

Re: Summer Entries & Wildcards - Dec 16 Update
She has had it for a while but has used her "un-protected" ranking a lot as well in that time, she must be getting close to wearing it out though. She will need a wildcard to play in Melbourne, which she SHOULD get but may not because she didn't play in the WC playoff. Does anyone know if that was injury related or just not wanting to play? They really should give her one, I know age isn't on her side but she is capable of qualifying which very few of the other girls are.
