Do we know what country he was from?
I recalled a Corinne Gould and hoped it might be her, but this person (the 1920 US Clay Court winner) md a Mr Chamberlain.

Thanks Jimbo. I have a bit more. May had a brother and sister who also played tennis. Her brother was Bertie Phillips, and her sister was a Mrs D Tanner.

Mrs Thomas, born Gould, was from New York.
In the meantime, you have made a good catch about Corinne Gould!

Re: The Official Married Names Thread
PAMELA "Pam" WATERMEYER
South Africa
Born circa 1944
Married Keith Diepraam, circa 1965
she is daughter of Ethel "Toodles" , that played in the late 1940s to the mid 1950s, and died circa 2010.
We don't still know the maiden name of Ethel "Toodles" , and I am uncertain because in our "1954 thread" there is, in the Doubles of South African Championship, an Eileen Prescott Watermeyer. Ethel and Eileen were the same person?

Hi Jimbo.
I may be able to help out on this when I get back from vacation. I recently got a book of the history of tennis in South Africa. It has many maiden names for married players.

Re: The Official Married Names Thread
Millicent Maude Fraser-Watson
South Africa
Born circa 1897
Married to Charles Kidder Pitt (1884-????) 31 March 1919 in London, St Finchley Parish.
2 children.
Daughter of Harrison Fraser Watson.
Active in the 1920s. Played Wimbledon in 1923.
She may very well by the same Millicent Pitt who was born 12 May 1896 and who died in Croyden, Surrey, England in March 1995 at age 98. I have no way of confirming this at present.

She can't be the other Millicent Pitt because Pitt wasn't her maiden name.

Not sure I follow Mark. Can we confirm that the Pitt I cited (died 1995) never married? If that's the case you are correct of course.
